Hey! Will you help us recycle disposable diapers?
This is how it works: Do not throw the diapers in the residual waste, but collect them in a separate bag and we will collect them for free!
It is best to use a diaper pail for this. Don't have this yet? Then you can borrow these from us!

What happens to the diapers?

The collected diapers are processed into plastic, fertilizer, and biogas.
The video below was made for the city of Waalwijk, but this also applies to the diapers we collect!

You need to know this!

The diaper bags are collected by us weekly.
Usually on Saturday or Sunday, but this varies by area.

The current locations where Verkleed collects the diapers:

Leiden
Leiderdorp
Voorschoten
Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk

We are looking into expanding to:

Oegstgeest
Warmond
Zoeterwoude-Dorp

Additionally, we can also be found at various events.

The diapers are collected by cargo bike; therefore, we unfortunately have to limit ourselves to the above-mentioned municipalities at the moment.
However, we are seeing more and more similar initiatives emerging.
If you live in a region where a similar initiative is known to exist, we can try to put you in touch with each other!

We focus primarily on families with one or more children in (night) diapers and childminders.
This amounts to approximately 7 to 100 diapers / diaper pants / pajama pants per address per week.

Of course, we'd love for daycare centers and healthcare institutions to recycle diapers as well, but these quantities are too large for us to collect!
However, we're happy to help find solutions to have their diapers recycled as well!

Notification

We've received a large number of registrations in a short time, which we're thrilled about.!
However, due to the sheer volume, we've fallen behind in following up.

At this moment, pails and rolls of diaper bags are being prepared and delivered.
Furthermore, we have run out of stock of outdoor storage boxes. New ones have been ordered!
It may take a while before we come to collect your diapers; apologies for the wait!

We will let you know when we can start collecting the diapers from your address and on which weekday that will be.
The bags of diapers can simply be placed outside on your collection day.
