Diaper changing facility or diaper pail for a better environment?

That sounds strange huh! Yet it is possible, on this page an explanation!

Throw away diapers

Every year, approximately 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) diapers are thrown away in the Netherlands, which is a large part of the waste stream.
Many of these diapers go with the domestic waste and eventually end up in the incinerator or in a landfill, because of this valuable raw materials are lost, this could be done better!

Initiatives have now been launched to recycle this waste stream into useful raw materials.
Information about the recycling process can be found on our recycling page.
It has already been given some attention in the media, we have made a small selection of this on the media page.

The best way to separate diapers from domestic waste is to keep them separate at the source,
in short, straight "from the changing table", this is what we give substance to!

Research

A few years ago we started a study to see whether people were interested in separating their diaper waste and whether it was profitable to do more with it.
The project has been, to say the least, a huge success, even now the applications are still pouring in!
In a limited region, we still collect the used diapers from families and childminders every week so that they can be recycled.
More information about our research can be found on our research page.

More and more municipalities want a "zero waste" policy in which as little waste as possible is thrown away and as much as possible is reused

Thanks to the willingness to recycle and the "zero waste" waste policy, more and more municipalities, daycare centers and healthcare institutions are getting the opportunity to hand in their used diapers for recycling.

For private individuals, we will continue to work (through our partners) for more locations to return their used diapers.

Change facility

Vision

We have now reached a point where we will provide a business follow-up to this investigation.
Individuals and foundations can borrow the products for free if they have their diapers collected by Verschoon.
We rent out products for business purposes to organizers, among others, so that parents can change their children's clothes in a safe and hygienic way at their events.

We make this distinction because, on the one hand, we would like to encourage diapers to be collected separately, but on the other, we also have to recoup our costs.
Host parents and playgroups come under our loan arrangement. This is because childminders and playgroups often have too little nappy waste to put down an entire container.
In addition, they occasionally need an extra or larger pail.
Also (neighborhood) playgrounds are covered by our loan scheme. The budgets of these associations are often quite limited and we would rather see that spent on a good playground for children than on diaper waste.
We do ask that you promote our products/services visually, for example with a sticker on the pail/table and possibly a flyer.
Soon we will also have a quality mark with accompanying sticker!

Clean Butt, Clean Environment

More information about our target audiences can be found on our audiences page.

We will deliver, set up, break down and pick up the items. When collecting the products, we also immediately take the diaper waste with us so that it can be recycled.
When renting out for a longer period of time, we offer the possibility to collect the diaper waste in the meantime.
More information about this service can be found on our services page.

In addition, we offer locations where a cleaning facility is already available, such as swimming pools, (indoor) playgrounds, shops and catering establishments, etc., a service to collect the diaper waste for recycling.
The emphasis is on locations that have "too little" diaper waste to rent their own diaper container, but would like to contribute to the circular economy by having their diaper waste disposed of through us.

We are also considering setting up mobile changing and changing facilities at designated public locations (for example, in nature reservates or at the beach).

Currently we are still looking for a suitable business premises, when this is found, private individuals can also hand in their diaper waste directly to us.
